Marvel Super War MOBA launches on mobile, here’s how to get it

Chances are you will have missed the news surrounding Marvel Super War, a new competitive multiplayer game from Chinese mega publisher, NetEase.

Not to be confused with other Marvel mobile hits such as Contest of Champions, Future Fight, or Strike Force, Super War is the first time we’ve seen the popular comic book universe cross paths with the ever-growing MOBA genre:

Marvel and NetEase Games have teamed up to deliver the most dynamic, eye-popping and faithful recreation of the Marvel Universe on the small screen. Get ready to explore more possibilities and experience the action like never before! Iron Man vs. Captain Marvel, Spider-Man vs. Deadpool, X-Men vs. Avengers! Epic 5v5 real-time battles are about to shake the vast cosmos! What are you waiting for? Grab your friends, form your ultimate squad and delve into the new and unknown Marvel MOBA-verse.

Available to download right now on iOS and Android, Super War pits two teams of Marvel icons against each other in a strategic showdown similar to those that play out in Dota 2, League of Legends, and Smite.

The game already has a decent selection of heroes and villains to choose from, many tagged with unlockable skins and costumes from different comic runs and movies.

From stalwarts such as Captain America and Iron Man, to more tertiary characters like Yondu and Blade, they all have their own unique powers, falling into one of several roles.

Although we’ve seen plenty of PC MOBAs come and go, they’re becoming more popular in the mobile space and it’s easy to see why. Super War doesn’t just have the Marvel and NetEase names behind it – from what we’ve played it’s surprisingly polished and works great on touchscreens.

A global release date for Marvel Super War has yet to be confirmed though in a few quick minutes you can access the game by going into your mobile settings and changing the Google Play/App Store region to Asia, Singapore, or Malaysia. It’s a free download, plays in English, and by hooking the game up to a social media account (or Apple Game Center) you can save your data, manage friends etc.
