The March Xbox Games with Gold have been revealed

Does anyone else get the feeling that Microsoft aren’t that bothered with Games with Gold? They certainly are not wheeling out any big games, you do get Batman this month but a three year old Telltale game isn’t going to get anyone’s pulse racing.

What delights do Microsoft have for you in March? Read on…

  • Batman: The Enemy Within – The Complete Season ($14.99 ERP): Available March 1 to 31 on Xbox One
  • Shantae: Half-Genie Hero ($19.99 ERP): Available March 16 to April 15 on Xbox One
  • Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 ($39.99 ERP): Available March 1 to 15 on Xbox One & Xbox 360
  • Sonic Generations ($19.99 ERP): Available March 16 to 31 on Xbox One & Xbox 3

And here are the Metacritic ratings to give you and idea of how good the games are.

  • Batman: The Enemy Within – The Complete Season – 79
  • Shantae: Half-Genie Hero – 80
  • Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 – 70
  • Sonic Generations – 77

A surprisingly good month in terms of ratings, but as I said they don’t seem keen to give away a Halo or a Forza is it. By the way, you can still download three of this month’s games, TT Isle of Man, Call of Cthulhu, and Star Wars Battlefront should be available.

“Batman: The Enemy Within opens with a fantastic episode, turning the world of Batman on its head once more with new foes and new allies that you’ll have to work with,” we said in our review. “It drags Bruce and Batman further down into the murky grey area that he inhabits, keeping players constantly guessing as to whether or not they’re doing the right thing and bringing relationships new and old into the foreground.”

“Shantae: Half-Genie Hero features some of the best platforming of recent years, and it’s easy to recommend to anyone that’s a fan of platformers or Metroidvania style games, though a couple more levels to combat the game’s repetition would have been perfect. Wayforward will have to settle for almost reaching that mark instead,” we also said in our review.
