FUSER revealed by Harmonix and it will let you be a DJ

Harmonix has revealed its newest music game and it is called FUSER. In FUSER players become DJs so they can mix a whole host of popular songs. In the trailer, you can hear a bit of Billie Eilish so a sample of her tracks will be in there. Players will be able to create their own mixes or collaborate with other players and create some megamixes that can be shared.

Here is the full blurb courtesy of Harmonix:

We are excited to announce FUSER – a nonstop virtual music festival where you control the music! Combine elements of the world’s most popular songs to create your own sound or partner with friends on epic collaborations, then share your amazing mixes and headlining performances with the world! FUSER comes to PC and consoles this fall.

FUSER will include over 100 songs with more being added via DLC. The first 16 songs have been confirmed and they are:

  • 50 Cent – “In Da Club”
  • Billie Eilish – “bad guy”
  • Blue Öyster Cult – “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”
  • The Chainsmokers ft. Daya – “Don’t Let Me Down”
  • The Clash – “Rock the Casbah”
  • Fatboy Slim – “The Rockafeller Skank”
  • Imagine Dragons – “Thunder”
  • J. Balvin & Willy William – “Mi Gente”
  • Lady Gaga – “Born This Way”
  • Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus – “Old Town Road (Remix)”

  • Smash Mouth – “All Star”
  • Warren G & Nate Dogg – “Regulate”

Harmonix most recently released VR rhythm shooter Audica and in our review Jim said:

With Audica, Harmonix has taken a shot at reclaiming the rhythm action crown. It touts a challenging lineup of stages matched by a strong song roster yet feels boxed in by its shooting range premise.
You can read the full Audica review here.
So, get ready to be a DJ this autumn when FUSER arrives on PC, Xbox One, Switch, and PS4.

From the heady days of the Mega Drive up until the modern day gaming has been my main hobby. I'll give almost any game a go.

  1. Back in the days of DJ Hero/Singstar this might have been a half decent idea, but that ship has long sailed. Anyone with a laptop these days can download Virtual DJ, Traktor or Serato and pretend to DJ using any song they own or even just using a DJ app on an iPhone/iPad.

The tracklist is shockingly bad and it just looks like a cheap way to milk money putting further tracks behind a paywall. The mixes are all going to sound so samey too with only 100 tracks to choose from.

I’ll stick with my 1210’s and DJM900NXs for now. Yes, I am old :D

    • It does sound like exactly my kind of thing – and I love Harmonix – but yeah, 100-ish songs isn’t going to go very far.

      • From what I’ve read elsewhere, you can mix any of the 4 bits (drums, bass, instruments and vocals) from any of those 100 songs together.

Which gives a possible 94,109,400 results. Which seems like quite a few. Although how many of those won’t sound terrible?
