Borderlands 3 is coming to Steam in March, as second campaign add-on revealed at PAX East

After launching with Epic Games Store exclusivity last year, Borderlands 3 will be coming to Steam next month on 13th March it was announced today at PAX East. After the predictable outrage that the exclusivity originally caused, Gearbox had a little joke trailer to mark the news.

Cool. Well, as good as that news is for ardent storefront acolytes, people who are already playing the game on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Stadia will probably be more interested in the second campaign add-on for the game. Gloriously titled Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock, this will be out on 26th March.

That’s right, it’s wedding bells for Sir Alistair Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs, and you’ve been invited to the ice planet of Xylourgos to celebrate. Unfortunately, the frozen wastes are populated by the most dangerous wildlife, and the town of Cursehaven lies in the shadow of a fallen Vault Monster. Maybe it was the best they could book at short notice?

A group of occultists are trying to break up the marriage, and so your mission is to fight them off so that Wainwright and Hammerlock can live happily ever after.

Naturally there’ll be a bevy of new missions to take on – Gaige is on hand as the wedding planner – you’ll have new gear to earn, with a treasure trove of new Legendaries and some powerful Class Mods, and there’s plenty of new cosmetics as well.

There’s plenty more planned for the game over the next few months. April sees Mayhem Mode 2.0 overhauling the endgame and the Revenge of the Cartels seasonal event, while May bring the second Takedown event, themed after the Eridians and with a new True Takedown Mode for the highest difficulty.

They also teased the third campaign add-on, which will arrive this summer, with the following artwork.
