Rainbow Six: Siege’s Golden Gun Arcade event is now live

Ubisoft has now released a new limited time event for Rainbow Six: Siege. You can be a bit like a bond villain and become the Operator with the Golden Gun. The Golden Gun event begins today and will be running until March 23rd. Golden Gun is the first Arcade event. On the Arcade playlist the developers will make small changes for a limited time and those that prove popular will come back.

In Golden Gun players will be put in a secure area in Oregon with the aforementioned weapon. The Golden Gun is a weapon that has just one bullet in the chamber at a time and that bullet kills when it meets its target. There will not be any other weapons available in Golden Gun but Operators will still be able to melee and have access to their gadgets.

Even when the Golden Gun event ends players will still be able to relive the memory of the event by getting the golden gun skin which is called Endurance though it is only available for a very limited time. Here’s more information from Ubisoft about that:

This golden weapon skin, called Extravagance, will be available to unlock for the D-50 with either 12500 Renown or 360 R6 Credits. However, you’ll need to swipe it fast because it will only be available for the duration of the Arcade game mode!

Just over a week ago, Operation Void Edge went live for Rainbow Six: Siege which introduced the Operators Iana and Oryx. If you missed those patch notes from last week you can check them out below.

UPDATES

LEARNING AREA

Situations and Tutorials can now be found in the new Learning Area section.

The Learning Area is a new section that groups all learning-focused content in one place for easier navigation and better accessibility. We’ve also added new Learning Tips for beginners in the Learning Area to help new players ease more quickly into the Rainbow Six Siege experience. These tips will rotate automatically but players can scroll through the tips themselves as well.

BALANCING

YING

  • Removed Frag Grenades, replaced with Claymore

ELA

After the last buff to her Scorpion EVo3, we saw players primarily picking only the Scorpion and an overly large increase in her win-delta and pick-rate. We also observed Ela’s K/D and K/R ratios jump much higher than what we would like to see from a healthy balance change. While we still want to keep her Scorpion fun to play, our primary focus is to keep her balanced.

These changes are aimed at scaling back some of the changes made in Y4S4.3 and tweaking her EVo3 to be at a more appropriate power level closer to what we had in mind

  • Reduced recoil now only applies to the first 11 bullets
  • Increased resettle time after burst firing
  • Faster uptime to increase vertical recoil
  • Slightly increased recoil + spread
