Dark Horse Comics has revealed God of War: Fallen God by Chris Robertson and Tony Parker, not quite the God of War announcement you wanted I am sure but at least it’s some fresh Kratos action.
The series will be set between God of War III and the semi-reboot, PlayStation 4’s God of War. Chris Robertson and Tony Parker wrote the prequel comic to the PlayStation 4 game which began with Kratos already in the lands of the Norse, this new comic will fill in at least part of the journey to that destination. Here is the synopsis:
God of War: Fallen God follows Kratos after conquering Zeus and thwarting Athena. Believing himself to be finally free of his bondage, he sets sail for the desert in an attempt to distance himself from his home and his shame only to find his rage and guilt follow close behind. Kratos rages against the one foe that has proven to be unconquerable—himself. But a war against oneself is unwinnable, and only invites madness.
God of War: Fallen God #1 goes on sale on June 24th.
Earlier this month YouTuber Lance McDonald managed to hack the camera in the PlayStation 4 God of War game, allowing him to pull back the curtain to see things that were never meant for our eyes.
Good day’s work. God of War (PS4)‘s camera fully hacked. No clipping, ability to start and stop time freely, and works fully during cutscenes. It’s activated by entering special button presses on the map screen. Works great! pic.twitter.com/DaoBEIPOck

In a Twitter thread he focuses on God of War’s first boss battle as Kratos goes blow for blow with “The Stranger” who we later find out is Baldur.
According to McDonald, he was able to hack the camera by entering a special button press while accessing the game’s map. In doing see, he gets a cinematic spectator’s view of the fight.
What’s particularly amusing about this clash between the two gods is how it ends. After defeating Baldur, a battered and bruised Kratos drops him into chasm. However, if we look closer, we can see that some cheeky God of War dev has animated Baldur so that he gives Kratos two middle fingers while falling.
