Fan mock ups show what a special edition DualSense controller may look like

Moments after the reveal of the new PlayStation 5 DualSense controller fans were busy with Photoshop and Twitter and Twitcher @DormStreams has created four gorgeous coloured versions of the DualSense, each one based on a famous PlayStation exclusive game.

The minimalist design of the controller seems perfect for customisation as we can see below, here is a God of War inspired controller.

Next up, a green The Last Of Us pad.

I am sure you can guess what this controller is based on, this is my favourite design, the Spider-Man DualSense.

And Finally, Horizon Zero Dawn.

The new PlayStation 5 controller was revealed last night on the PlayStation Blog. Here’s more from Sony.

After thoughtful consideration, we decided to keep much of what gamers love about DualShock 4 intact, while also adding new functionality and refining the design. Based on our discussions with developers, we concluded that the sense of touch within gameplay, much like audio, hasn’t been a big focus for many games. We had a great opportunity with PS5 to innovate by offering game creators the ability to explore how they can heighten that feeling of immersion through our new controller. This is why we adopted haptic feedback, which adds a variety of powerful sensations you’ll feel when you play, such as the slow grittiness of driving a car through mud. We also incorporated adaptive triggers into the L2 and R2 buttons of DualSense so you can truly feel the tension of your actions, like when drawing a bow to shoot an arrow.

The angle the triggers has been altered as has the grip, and the Share button has been consigned to the bin and replaced with the ‘Create’ button. The controller now has a built in microphone so you don’t need a headset anymore, and the lightbar has also been moved slightly and now goes round the touchpad.

Reaction to the new pad has been generally favourable although the colour has got people wondering if the new PlayStation 5 console will also be white. Photoshop to the rescue again, for traditionalists, here’s a black DualSense for @MuCrush

News Editor, very inappropriate, probs fancies your dad.

  1. I like the Spider-Man/Mario dungarees look. Don’t think I’ll ever be a fan of just slapping a logo in the middle of the touchpad though. That’s always felt just so tacky and lame.

  2. Cool..! They all look really good, especially the Spider-Man and the TLOU ones. And, I have to say, the black one looks quite boring… Still, I’d prefer it to the white one…

Next question: does it have a proper headphone jack..?

    • Just read somewhere it has one..! Very good..! :-)
