Switch exclusives added to eShop Spring Sale – Save 1/3rd on Breath of the Wild, Captain Toad & Astral Chain

Nintendo have beefed up their Switch eShop Spring Sale, throwing a clutch of their first party exclusives into the mix, offering rare discounts on some of the essential games from their hybrid console.

Now, as always, this doesn’t translate to the craziest of bargains. Nintendo are only cutting 30% or 33% off games like Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Astral Chain and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. It’s pretty painful to see Breath of the Wild on sale and still costing £40, three years on from its original releaser, but you have to bear in mind that Nintendo’s games typically hold their value at retail as well as digitally.

There are other games also now on sale – it’s not just Nintendo’s that are added – such as Farming Simulator 20, Vampyr, What Remains of Edith Finch and others, so it’s still well worth heading into the eShop to browse. The sale is running until 19th April, though some games will have different end times.

Here’s the new additions from Nintendo to the sale:

  • Astral Chain – £33.29 £49.99
  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – £24.49 £39.99
  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze – £33.29 £49.99
  • Kirby Star Allies – £33.29 £49.99
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – £41.99 £59.99
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass – £12.59 £17.99
  • Snipperclips – Cut it out, together! – £12.59 £17.99
  • The Stretchers – £12.59 £17.99

And some highlights from other publishers:

  • What Remains of Edith Finch – £12.59 £17.99
  • Fe – £4.49 £17.99
  • Unravel Two – £6.24 £24.99
  • Spintires: Mudrunner – American Wilds – £7.79 £25.99
  • Vampyr £26.99 £44.99
  • Farming Simulator – £10.39 £25.99
  • Tales of Vesperia – £19.99 £24.95

Looking to the rest of the sale which got underway last week, there’s plenty of offers that you can take advantage of, with games at or close to their best historical sale prices. Mario + Rabbids is a steal at £7.49, and Civilization VI for £22 might prove worth it for the addictive gameplay. Meanwhile indie hits like Moonlighter (£8.99), Gris (£7.24), Golf Story (£6.74) and My Friend Pedro (£12.59) are all at what I believe are their best discount prices yet.
