SEGA has announced that from Monday 27th April Total War: Shogun 2 will be free to keep on Steam. This offer will be available until May 1st. SEGA has made this offer to help keep people at home and entertained during the COVID 19 lockdowns that are affecting billions of people globally. In a statement, SEGA wrote the following:
The past few weeks have presented unimaginable challenges to many of us, but the remarkable collective effort being made by the global community to overcome this moment of adversity has been truly inspirational.
In his thoughts for Total War: Shogun II Peter wrote:
Total War: Shogun 2 is comfortably able to sit shoulder to shoulder with other recent PC strategy hits, Civilization V and Starcraft II. In some ways it feels like Shogun 2 takes the best gameplay elements of those two games and combines them like a medieval alchemist in feudal Japan. But claiming that Shogun 2 is not unique would be foolish, there’s simply nothing that does the same thing anywhere near as successfully. Ultimately, I suppose the only games that can compare are the previous games in the Total War series.
This announcement from SEGA follows the announcement from Bandai Namco that it is giving away PAC-MAN Championship Edition 2.
