Dying Light – Hellraid DLC revealed and it will be out this summer for PC and consoles

Here’s a bit of a surprise for Dying Light fans. Techland has announced some new DLC for Dying Light called Hellraid, and it will be available soon for PS4, PC and Xbox One. Apart from a teaser trailer there is no detail. The trailer has you descending the steps into what appears to be a bit of a hellish basement. Then a cursed arcade machine rolls into view but to play on the game on it the machine demands the payment of a soul. Whether it is your soul or some other poor character’s is unknown. There is no price nor an exact date of when to expect the Hellraid DLC for Dying Light but we should get more information soon.

A few months back, Techland delayed Dying Light 2 indefinitely. When it was delayed Techland released a statement saying:

To our dedicated community,

It was a busy year for us as we continued to work on our biggest project to date. We know you are awaiting the game eagerly, and we want to deliver exactly what was promised.

We were initially aiming for a Spring 2020 release with Dying Light 2, but unfortunately we need more development time to fulfil our vision. We will have more details to share in the coming months, and will get back to you as soon as we have more information. We apologise for the unwelcome news. Our priority is to deliver an experience that lives up to our own high standards and to the expectations of you, our fans.

Last year, it was confirmed that Dying Light 2 would be a cross-generational title with Techland aiming to release the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X alongside current-gen machines. Without having any inkling of how long this delay could be we may not see Dying Light 2 until the next consoles are settled as products. Techland may decide to shift more resources to those versions of the game over the current gen.

Dying Light 2 is set 15 years after the first Dying Light and if you want to have a look at the game you can check out 26 minutes of gameplay here.
