Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee will be available on Switch in May

Oddworld Inhabitants, Inc. and Microids have confirmed that Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee will be released for Switch on May 14th as a digital release on the Nintendo eShop, with a physical release to occur later on in the year. The story begins with players taking on the role of Gabbit Munch, and he is on the path to rescue test creatures held captive by Vykkers Lab. Munch is not the only character that players will be playing as due to series Stalwart Abe coming in to help Munch. Players will be able to switch between the two characters depending on the situation that presents itself.

Back in August, it was confirmed that the next Oddworld title, Oddworld Soulstorm would be an Epic Games exclusive on PC. A message from Lorne Lanning was posted on the Oddworld Twitter at the time.

Oddworld: Soulstorm was originally announced in 2016 during GDC. In 2017 the title sequence was released for Oddworld: Soulstorm. However, it wasn’t until last year that a cinematic teaser was released, followed by a gameplay teaser. The game itself is a reimagining of 1998’s Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus but is also a sequel to Oddworld New N Tasty, which itself was a remake of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee.

Oddworld: Soulstorm is set to be released in 2020 for consoles, and obviously, PC via the Epic Games Store.
