Amazon Games’ free to play shooter Crucible will launch this month on PC

Amazon Games’ first big title will soon be with us (if you don’t count The Grand Tour) as the company confirmed that the free to play shooter Crucible will launch on May 20th for PC via Steam.

Crucible will launch with three modes which will demonstrate different ways to play the game. The first mode is called Hearts of the Hives, and in this mode two teams of four will face off against powerful Hives that contain each contain a heart. The first team to get three hearts will win but it will not be easy as the teams will have to battle each other as well as the Hives. The second mode is called Harvester Command pits two teams of eight to capture Harvesters that are dotted around the map in an attempt to deplete the other team’s Essence resources. The third mode is Alpha Hunters in which two teams of eight fight it out in a deathmatch setting.

Christoph Hartmann, Vice President at Amazon Games, said:

“In Crucible, every match is different, and players’ choices really matter. Every opponent, team, and mode poses unique dangers, and no two matches are the same, so players must constantly adapt to everything the world and the other teams throw at them. We’re excited for players to join the hunt in just a couple of weeks, and we can’t wait to hear what they think of it.”

At launch players will have the chance to choose from one of 10 characters that are a mix of human, aliens, and robots with their own abilities. Crucible has been developed by Relentless Studios. It is not the only game that Amazon Games has in the pipeline. The company is currently developing the huge MMO New World which has a dark colonial era fantasy setting of Aeternum, the Eternal Isle. The MMO was set to be released this month but has now been delayed until August 25th.
