Respawn Entertainment has released a brand new gameplay trailer to mark the start of Apex Legends Season 5, which will launch tomorrow May 12th. In the trailer you see a changed King’s Canyon as Skulltown and Thunderdome have been destroyed due to Loba’s entrance, and instead there is now a new area called Salvage. In addition, the trailer shows the new PvE quest system where players will roam King’s Canyon to discover secrets while taking on enemies known as Prowlers. You will also be finding treasure packs and surviving hunts against some larger enemies that will be a challenge, before having to escape from the quest location.
The trailer also shows Loba’s abilities. She seems to be able to throw her staff down to scan an area, and she also has a teleporting device which can be thrown anywhere so she can instantly move there, which will prove useful when attempting to get the drop on another player. Season 5 will see the release of a brand new battle pass which will give instant access to exclusive items such as the Legendary Hemlock Retrofitted skin and three new Rare Legends skins..
Respawn Entertainment also recently clarified the loss forgiveness system of Apex Legends. There are three instances where loss forgiveness is granted so you are not punished for leaving a game. Those instances include matchmade teammates leaving a match. This does not extend to party groups. When you first drop into a match and do not have three party members, and when there is an unexpected quit like a sudden drop in connection. However, with that final reason, there are limits to how often this can happen before you are penalised.
