Persona 4 Golden releases for PC – right now!

Persona 4 Golden Header

Persona 4 Golden has just released on PC. It doesn’t get much more straight-forward than that! Rumoured this week after images were posted to social media – despite some strict NDAs doing the rounds that were supposed to stop it getting out – there is indeed a port of the PS Vita classic, and it’s arrived on Steam today. In fact, just a moment or two ago.

Persona 4 Golden is considered not just one of the PS Vita’s best games, but one of the greatest JRPGs of all time. The Persona series, itself an offshoot of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, has been one of the most popular JRPG series for PlayStation, and has graced every single one of Sony’s consoles. Persona 4 originally appeared on the PS2 way back in 2008, where it found a huge number of fans, but when it was updated to the Vita as Persona 4 Golden it became synonymous with Sony’s handheld. The murder mystery set in the sleepy Japanese town of Inaba remains chock full of memorable characters, terrifying villains, and boasts an incredible soundtrack that will have you bopping along throughout, whil
e it paved the way for the huge success of Persona 5, and, its fantastic update Persona 5 Royal.

We were lucky enough to get hold of it a couple of weeks ago, and we’ve been putting it through its paces, with our review earning it 8/10. There are current some instabilities in the build, which took some of the sheen off this out-and-out classic, but we still summarised that “Persona 4 Golden remains an iconic, and hugely enjoyable JRPG, and with its arrival on PC a slew of new players can discover its delights. It’s a shame that there are a few technical problems lurking in the current build, but, with the inclusion of both the Japanese and English dubs, and the crisp, clear visuals, this marks a fantastic place to experience the game.”
