The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu goes to Disneyland in September

With international travel and large gatherings of people generally frowned upon right now, you can’t go to Disneyland in Anaheim, California to visit the Galaxy’s Edge attraction right now… but your Sims will be able to. The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu will let your Sims visit and covort around the alien planet that as the location for the attraction. The expansion will be out on 8th September.

The Sime 4 game world gets to make all of this even more immersive for your Sims than the real thing (in my opinion). You’ll be able to unlock missions for the Resistance, take on jobs for the First Order, or just be a scoundrel, and the more missions you accomplish, the more likely it is that you’ll meet iconic Star Wars characters, including Rey and Kylo Ren. Obviously, that will depend on if you’ve chosen to side with the Light or the Dark side of the Force…

While you’re there, you’ll see many of the sights that will be familiar to anyone that’s visited Disneyland. The Millennium Falcon will take centre stage as your Sim runs around looking for Kyber Crystals with which to construct their very own lightsaber. That’s in addition to picking up Star Wars themed clothing, and getting their own customisable droid. Then, at the end of a long day, you can retire to Oga’s Cantina and have a glass of Jet Juice while kicking back to DJ R-3X’s interstellar hits.

You’ll be able to take a lot of these things back to the rest of the game world, including the lightsaber, and customise your Sims’ abode to look like it’s been ripped out the Star Wars universe.

“We loved the idea of giving players the opportunity to tell their own Star Wars story, and The Sims’ open-ended form of storytelling and self-expression is the perfect platform to do so,” said Douglas Reilly, VP, Lucasfilm Games. “Our fans are always looking for new ways to immerse themselves into the Star Wars galaxy, and we hope The Sims will provide that in an unexpectedly new and exciting way, where they’ll influence the world of Batuu and find their destiny in the galaxy as they see fit.”

The Game Pack will be out on 8th September, arriving at midnight wherever you are on PC and Mac via EA, and at 6PM UK time for Steam, Xbox One and PS4.
