Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 4 is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X & everything else

The next entry in one of Milestone’s many yearly motorcycle video game franchises has been confirmed. Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 4 will be out on 11th March 2021 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam and Google Stadia.

Actually, Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 4 isn’t even the game’s full name. That would be Monster Energy AMA Supercross 4 FIM World Championship – The Official Videogame.

Either way, the game will feature the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross season, sporting eleven stadiums and seventeen tracks, which includes the Salt Lake City variants. However, much more exciting is the new Career Mode structure, which starts you off in the Supercross Futures and has you climb the ladders to reach 250SX and 450SX categories. Through this, the performance of each rider will be dependent on the skills, which can be upgraded through a new skill tree, with points earnt from racing, special events, training and special objectives found in the Journal.

A new Compound has been built for free roam in solo and co-op game modes, with its landscape inspired by Maine Islands. The Track Editor returns with more customisation modules, including Tuff Blox, Starting Gate structures, Finish Line structures and Leader Pillars.

Turning to the online multiplayer, and this will be build upon dedicated servers and get a Race Director Mode in an update sometime after the game’s launch.

We reviewed the last game, Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 3 earlier this year. In our review, Tom wrote:

MEAMAS3FIMWCTOVG is an enjoyable way of spending an hour or two, but a lack of significant progress combined with a fairly ordinary career structure, uninspiring user-created tracks and rocky online performance means that you won’t be running home from school desperate to play the next level.

Here’s hoping that the jump to next-gen and the overhauled career mode can inject a little added spice and excitement into proceedings.
