Each game in the Blizzard Arcade Collection has been reworked to make them the Definitive Editions. All feature saving and rewinding features for example. In addition, The Lost Vikings and Rock N Roll Racing both have enhanced local multiplayer. Rock N Roll Racing also has new songs added to it as well as new artist performances. Blackthorne has not been left out of the changes with this game getting a brand new map.

What are The Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing, and Blackthorne?

With all three games now being relatively old titles some will not be familiar with the games included in the Blizzard Arcade Collection. So here is a quick primer on each title.

  • The Lost Vikings – Released originally in 1993 for SNES before being ported to Amiga, Amiga CD32, MS-DOS, and SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis. The Lost Vikings is a side scrolling platformer in which players control three Vikings with different abilities as they travel through time while trying to escape an intergalactic zoo. Players need to use each Viking’s abilities to navigate the levels.
  • Rock N Roll Racing – A combat racing game that first released in 1993 for SNES and then came to Mega Drive/Genesis in 1994. The name comes from the heavy rock inspired soundtrack. The gameplay consists of four characters racing around tracks while using weapons to take each other out.
  • Blackthorne – Originally released in 1994 for SNES/MS-Dos before being ported to Sega 32X. Blackthorne is an action platformer in which main character Kyle can use weapons such as a shotgun to fend off enemies, and navigate the levels to find the exit.

The Blizzard Arcade Collection has been priced at £16.99
