The original post follows with details of what’s included.
Planet Coaster: Console Edition is set to get a little bit bigger this week with the release of the Vintage & World’s Fair bundle of DLC on Thursday 25th February. The DLC will be available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, taking two DLC packs released for the game’s PC version and sprucing them up with console specific features.
The combined expansions will offer 10 new rides (four coasters and six flat rides) for you to insert into your parks, over 630 new scenery items with which to spruce things up, and over 250 new blueprints which let you quickly place fully constructed buildings and scenery into the park you’re creating. It’s the blueprints that are amongst the new features for the game on console, and it’s great to see Frontier continue to expand this controller friendly feature.
The 10 new rides are: Zephyrus, Aces Sky, Round the World, Loop Da Loop, Test Flight, Hurricane, Centrum, Polarity, Jixxer and Interceptor.
Planet Coaster first came out for PC in November 2016, getting a glowing review from us at the time, after which Frontier sought to expand the game with a number of DLC packs. Now, with Planet Coaster: Console Edition launching alongside the new generation of games console at the end of 2020, they’re starting to feed those DLC packs across to console in quick succession. We’ve already seen the Classic Rides and Magnificent Rides bundles into the Deluxe Rides pack (bundled in with the Deluxe Edition of the game), and then there was the Spooky & Adventure pack which followed in December. Frontier aren’t going in chronological order with these, though Vintage & World’s Fair came out close together in the middle of 2018.
The two DLC packs will be available as a bundle for £11.99 ($14.99/€12.99) or individually for £7.99 ($9.99/€9.99) each.
Planet Coaster: Console Edition launched to plenty of praise, and we were not the exception. In our Planet Coaster: Console Edition Review, Dom wrote:
Joy, wonder and engrossing park management come together to spectacular effect in Planet Coaster: Console Edition. Frontier are masters of the park building art, and as we enter a new console generation that’s never been clearer.
