As fans of Marvel’s Avengers eagerly await the arrival of its upcoming Hawkeye expansion, additional DLC has been reportedly leaked ahead of its announcement.
The following video was uploaded to the official Intel YouTube page before being taken down (presumably at the request of Square Enix and Avengers developer Crystal Dynamics). It was later reposted by YouTube user TheRogueSaiyan.
The video showcases “Custom HARM Rooms” which basically allow players to tailor their very own training scenarios. Created in partnership with Intel, this new mode is designed to push PC performance to its very limits. From what we can see, the tools on offer will populate the HARM Room challenge with massive groups of elite and larger enemies. It looks pretty hectic – not just from a combat gameplay perspective, but also the sheer number of highly detailed characters and effects consuming every corner of the screen.
Custom HARM Rooms will be making their way to consoles too, according to the game’s community manager, Alan Wong (spotted by MP1st).
Square Enix have yet to officially announce these custom HARM Rooms. If they do, it will likely come via a Marvel’s Avengers War Table broadcast.
March 18th marks a huge day for the big budget superhero RPG. Following on from the recently released Kate Bishop DLC, her mentor Hawkeye will finally be reunited with his Avengers pals in a new time-bending storyline that also features supervillain, Maestro. Hawkeye will join the Avengers roster as a new playable character, complete with his own powers, cosmetics, and upgradeable skills.
There’s been continued speculation as to which other characters are going to be added to Marvel’s Avengers in future. According to the latest leaks, Spider-Man will be next (exclusive to PlayStation platforms), followed by Black Panther, She-Hulk, Winter Soldier, Captain Marvel, and finally War Machine. While all seem like plausible additions to the game, there’s no confirmation from the developers.
March 18th will also see Marvel’s Avengers make the jump to new consoles including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
On PS5 Avengers will offer two settings, allowing players to choose between a high performance 60FPS checkerboard 4K mode or native 4K mode.
This beefed up version of Marvel’s Avengers will support cross-generation online matchmaking allowing PS4 and PS5 heroes to team up. A cross-generation save file import has also been confirmed, so you won’t have to start the game from scratch. Sadly, Square have still yet to announce cross-play between PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.
