CI Games has revealed the first look at Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 gameplay as well as announcing the release date for the game. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will be out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 4th June 2021.
The previous game in the series leant heavily on stealth with open-world sandboxes described as “sniper’s paradises”, and the sequel pushes that further with much larger maps to allow you to take on targets from really, really far away. The game is the most expansive in the series to date, with the trailer showing off the new ultra-long range sniping at ranges of over 1000m. This is enabled by the large-scale sandbox maps through which players, in the role of contract sniper assassin Raven, will be able to use authentic gear and weaponry to approach, track and take out targets.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 features a single-player campaign set in a modern day Middle East. There will be five sandbox maps that allow you to take on the missions in a variety of different ways, with unlockable rewards for completing all of the objectives. All of the campaign missions have beenl hand-crafted to ensure that the long-distance sniping works well, but you’ll still have to employ stealth and subterfuge in order to reach the ideal sniping spot.
On next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X, you’ll have enhanced graphics, a native 4K resolution and improved loading times from their built in SSDs. However, there’s no word on if there’s full support for the DualSense haptics and trigger features.
The game is now available for pre-order, and quite modestly priced at $39,99 / €39,99 / £34,99 / AUD69,95 on consoles and $29,99 / €29,99 / £24,99 on PC. Pre-orders will earn the following bonus content, though seemingly only at retail:
● Marcus Tactical: A light sniper rifle with great stability
● FFF-45 ACP Luring Pistol: A side arm with special luring ammo
● Two Weapon Skins.
