Humankind has been delayed until August

Humankind, the game not the people, has been delayed until August 17th. The news comes from Amplitude and SEGA who stated that the delay was down to needed extra time to make some changes and improvements following feedback from players who tested some areas of the game.

In a statement Amplitude’s Chief Creative Officer Romain de Waubert de Genlis, said:

It’s been exciting to see the community get their hands on the game during the last few OpenDev sessions, and to hear all the positive (and constructive!) feedback.Players have always been at the heart of Amplitude’s philosophy and releasing HUMANKIND in August will allow us the extra time to keep working with the community and polishing the game for an amazing day one experience.”

This is not the first time that Humankind has been delayed. The game was originally revealed in 2019 at Gamescom with an aim to release in 2020. Then a certain pandemic hit humankind (the people) therefore delaying the release of Humankind (the game) in 2021. It was thought that Humankind would release in early 2021 but as we now know that is not the case.

Those who pre-purchase Humankind will get some extra bonus content. That content is avatar sets of Lucy and Edgar Allan Poe.
