Sky: Children of the Light is coming to Nintendo Switch in June.

From the makers of Flower and Journey, thatgamecompany has announced that Sky: Children of the Light will be coming to Nintendo Switch in June 2021.

Originally release for iOS in July 2019 before flying over to Android in April 2020, Sky: Children of the Light will be appearing on a console for the first time with this Nintendo Switch release. The game will be free-to-start and will have cross-play between console and mobile players.

In Sky: Children of the Light, you explore a kingdom using a cape that gives you the ability to fly. The game world is split into several realms that represent the states of life, throughout which you can encounter spirits that unlock items – your character can be customised with plenty of cosmetics – and children of light that let you improve your cape’s energy.

As in Journey, there is a social component. You’re able to meet and befriend other players, unlock the ability to chat and send gifts as friendship grows.

Since its debut in 2019, there have also been nine seasons, with this month seeing the start of the Season of Assembly, giving a new narrative arc that follows a lone Scout who needs to rebuild an abandoned treehouse, and recover lost kinship with schouthoods past.
