Remnant: From the Ashes PS5 and Xbox Series X|S free upgrade announced

Perfect World Entertainment Inc. have announced a free upgrade to Remnant: From the Ashes, the third-person survival action shooter. You do not have long to wait as the game will be patched on May 13th, here’s more from the press release:

We’re incredibly excited to announce that on Thursday, May 13, Remnant: From the Ashes will receive a free major upgrade patch that will add the option to run the game at 4K resolution at 30fps the PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X, or 1080p resolution at 60fps on both the PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X/S!

Also on May 13, Remnant: From the Ashes will be available on the Microsoft Store App and the Xbox App for Windows 10, or accessed as part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC program — each of which will have cross-play support with Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S players.

Those of you with PlayStation Plus will remember that the game was one of the main titles in the March PlayStation Plus line up. If you have not played the game, below a is a brief summary of what to expect:

The world has been thrown into chaos by an ancient evil from another dimension. Humanity is struggling to survive, but they possess the technology to open portals to other realms and alternate realities. They must travel through these portals to uncover the mystery of where the evil came from, scavenge resources to stay alive, and fight back to carve out a foothold for mankind to rebuild…

Remnant: From the Ashes is a third-person survival action shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monstrous creatures. As one of the last remnants of humanity, you’ll set out alone or alongside up to two other players to face down hordes of deadly enemies and epic bosses, and try to carve a foothold, rebuild, and then retake what was lost.

  1. This does not seem to be an actual PS5 upgrade (as in a proper PS native game), but rather a PS4 update that makes the PS4 game run better on PS5.

    • Yes, that is correct. Lots of games are getting patches like that.
