WitcherCon virtual fan fest is happening in July – get your first glimpse of The Witcher Season 2 here

Netflix and CD Projekt Red have announced WitcherCon, a virtual fan event that will take place in July, celebrating all things from the Witcher universe, from video games to TV shows and even the original books.

WitcherCon will take place on Friday 9th July, and you can pretty much guarantee that Season 2 of The Witcher will feature quite heavily. Speaking of which… there’s a very brief teaser for The Witcher Season 2!

The official rundown of what the event will entail, however, is:

  • A variety of entertaining and interactive panels spotlighting the people who brought The Witcher to life in-game and on-screen.
  • Breaking news, exclusive behind the scenes and never-before-seen reveals from across The Witcher franchise.
  • Intimate looks into the creativity and production behind CD Projekt Red’s games, including the upcoming mobile game The Witcher: Monster Slayer, comic books and fan gear, and Netflix’s live action series The Witcher plus merchandise, as well as the anime film Nightmare of the Wolf.
  • Expert explorations into the lore, legends, monsters and origins of the Continent.

One thing that CDPR has been keen to stress is that, no, there will be no new The Witcher game announced at WitcherCon. While they are working on new games in The Witcher universe, they certainly aren’t going to be at a point to be able to show anything even vaguely representative, the studio having crunched hard all through 2020 in order to ship Cyberpunk 2077, and then deal with the fallout from that rushed release. So no, there will not be a The Witcher 4: Subtitle Here announcement in July.

The first airing of the WitcherCon stream will be at 6PM UK time on 9th July, and the second airing at 2AM UK time on 10th July. Both streams will have exclusive content, though it’s not clear how different the streams will be. A full schedule of WitcherCon will be released sometime soon.
