Dying Light 2 – more gameplay details coming next week

Dying Light 2 Gameplay Reveal Release Date PS5 Xbox Banner

Dying Light 2 developer Techland have confirmed that another episode in its “Dying 2 Know” preview series will be coming next week. It will likely feature fresh gameplay and new details on the long-awaited zombie survival sequel sequel.

The next episode of Dying 2 Know will be available to watch via the official Techland Twitch channel at 9PM CEST – that’s 8PM for folks here in the UK. We don’t have any specifics on what will be shown, though Techland’s cryptic invite may hold some clues…

Night is coming, and with it the nightmares, who hide in their nests during the day, awaken.

It’s a chance for us to get supplies to restore the remnants of hope in the hearts of the few loved ones we have, and grow our lives on the rooftops.

But before you hit the streets, you need to know what’s hiding in the darkness.

The reward is high, but the price you will pay if you stay in the dark for too long will be even higher.

Good luck and remember to Stay Human!

During the last reveal stream, it was confirmed that Dying Light 2 has a release date set for December 7, 2021. It will be launching on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The sequel takes place 20 years after the events of the first game. The city of Harran was put into an Exclusion Zone, while scientists decided to keep on experimenting on the virus. Cutting a bit close to, you know, reality, a more virulent strain of the virus escapes from a Geneva laboratory in late 2021 and goes on to wipe out 98% of the world’s population, with just the final city of Villedor a bastion of mankind… well, during the day.

There’s three main factions in the game, each with their own characters, and as you try to cut your way through this “modern Dark Age”, you might have to advantage one or the other, or as you restore water and electricity to a region, assign it to a faction and maybe unlock different rewards.

At night, that’s when the real nasties come out and that’s exactly what we’re hoping to see more of in the latest developer stream.
