You might not realise it but it will have been eight years since the last LEGO Star Wars game was release. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out in June 2016. We scored the game 8/10 in our review. #
“Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is amongst the best games from either franchise,” said Dom. “While the story of a single film has been noticeably stretched out, there’s still plenty of content here for fans to enjoy, and the new additions to the Lego formula help to keep things fresh despite so much familiarity.”
This is not the first time that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been delayed, with the game originally planned for release in 2020. It’s also not the first time that a Warner Bros. game has been delayed. In fact, their entire slate of games for 2021 has slipped from their intended release dates.
In January Hogwarts Legacy was shoved from 2021 to 2022 (something overshadowed by JK Rowling and a member of the game’s development team having distinctly bad opinions on trans rights), and that was followed last month by Gotham Knights also getting the heave-ho out of this year and into next. Even when WB’s games aren’t giving 2021 a miss, they’re being delayed. Left 4 Dead successor Back 4 Blood was intended for a June release but now has a new target for October, with a beta running in the past few days.
