Developer Lienzo has confirmed that its action adventure title Aztech: Forgotten Gods will be releasing in Q1 2022, a push back from the originally announced released window of Autumn 2021. While there has been a delay, Lienzo has revealed that a demo will be available through Steam Next Fest from October 1st until October 7th, and it will give players a showdown against Coatlicue, the All-Mother Goddess, and a chance to explore some of the land of Tenochtitlan.

“We want players to have the best possible experience in the amazing world the team has created,” said Guillermo Vizcaino, Head of PR & Marketing and Lead Writer, Lienzo. “The first-ever Aztech Forgotten Gods demo gives us the chance to share the latest updates to the game and the opportunity to invite players into Tenochtitlan ahead of our Q1 2022 launch!”

Here is the full description of the game’s plot:

Aztech Forgotten Gods is the cyber-stone action-adventure following Achtli, a young woman who battles the colossal Forgotten Gods. To uncover the truth behind her far-future Mesoamerican metropolis, she’ll have to turn the Gods’ power against them, as she soars through the city with power and grace using an ancient artifact, remnant of a time long forgotten.
According to Deadline, Aztech: Forgotten Gods already has a movie deal lined up. Apparently, Lienzo Studio has partnered with Impossible Dream Entertainment to bring the game to the silver screen. Yvette Yates Redick and Shaun Redick are reportedly attached to produce the movie. Shaun Redick recently produced Get Out and BlackKKKlansman. Aztech: Forgotten Gods has been confirmed for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.
