Update: It looks like the the PS Plus Free Games October 2021 have leaked. It seems like Hell Let Loose, the multiplayer WWII shooter, will be coming for PS5 owners, while on PS4 the games appear to be Mortal Kombat X and PGA Tour 2K21. Here is an image courtesy of DealLabs, the site that has leaked the last three months of PlayStation Plus. As you can see in our original story below, Hell Let Loose was one of the predicted titles.

Original Story: I’m sure many of you are eagerly looking forward to the PS Plus Free Games for October 2021 but what are the latest rumours? When will the announcement come? Let’s break it down.

When will PS Plus Free Games for October 2021 games be announced and released?

Traditionally PlayStation Plus games have always been announced on the last Wednesday of ever month at 4.30 PM UK time with the games going live the following Tuesday morning, so for this batch of games we are looking at Wednesday 29th September, so just one day to wait. That said, Sony occasionally decide to change things up and announce them earlier or later, depending on what mood they are / what trousers they are wearing / the availability of their favourite coffee / some other reason they never reveal.

What will the PS Plus Free Games for October 2021 games be?

So far there have been no leaks or rumours (Edit: Now there has, you can read it at the top of the page!), and predicting the free PS5 is rather more difficult than in previous months. We’re heading in to the Christmas period so it’s triple-A games clogging up the release schedule rather than smaller titles that Sony can give away.  The money is on Hell Let Loose, it’s not available for pre-order which is usually a sign a game is coming to PS Plus, and launches on October 5th.  It’s also a multi player game, something Sony like to give away, and it’s had a couple of betas on PlayStation.

Other than that, there’s Far Cry 6 on October 7th, no chance of that hitting PS Plus, or Back 4 Blood on October 12th, which also seems unlikely. However, last month they gave away an slightly older game which has been spruced up for PS5 rather than a brad new game. If that’s the plan then there are plenty of games to choose from.

The PS4 games are likely to be older titles, the September games were Hitman 2 and Predator Hunting Grounds so it’s unlikely we will get similar games. That said, shooters are always popular and there must be a Call of Duty that has yet to appear on PS Plus. Probably.

Can I still download the September 2021 PlayStation Plus Games?

Yes you can. The PlayStation Plus games for September are Hitman 2 and Predator: Hunting Grounds for PlayStation 4, and Overcooked! All You Can Eat as the PS5 bonus game. All the games will be available to download for PS Plus subscribers from September 7th

  1. If that leak is true, it really is the worst month ever.

Tried the beta of Hell Let Loose, and it’s really shit. Mortal Kombat X is ancient, and already on PS+ anyway (if you’ve got a PS5). And a golf game?? Why????

  2. I haven’t purchased a golf game for many years – and haven’t enjoyed one for a few before that – but it might be something to while away a few hours. Otherwise, another underwhelming month.
