BloodRayne ReVamped and BloodRayne 2 ReVamped announced

Bloodrayne 500

BloodRayne ReVamped and BloodRayne 2 ReVamped, remasters of the original BloodRayne games, have been announced by Ziggurat Interactive. These versions of the game are coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch. The reason a PC version of BloodRayne ReVamped and BloodRayne 2 ReVamped has not been announced is because this is the same content as the Terminal Cut edition that came out last year.

The features for the ReVamped versions of BloodRayne & BloodRayne 2 include:

  • Support for higher display resolutions (up to 4K / 3840×2160).
  • Upscaled cinematic videos.
  • Improvements to lighting at the engine level, plus fully reprocessed lighting data.
  • Engine improvements to support uncompressed original textures.
  • Improvements to effects such as reflections, water, fog, and shadows.

Localizations include:

  • BloodRayne: Voiced audio and localized text for English, French, Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish.
  • BloodRayne 2: Voiced audio in English and Russian. Localized text for English, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish.

The first BloodRayne was released in 2002 for PS2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC. The followup was released in 2004. Both games follow Rayne as she confronts other supernatural creatures, including her vampire father Kagan. A sidescroller called BloodRayne: Betrayal was released in 2011. A movie based on BloodRayne was released in 2006. It was directed by Uwe Boll and starred Kristanna Loken as well as Ben Kingsley. The movie was very poorly received with just a 4% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an audience score of just 17%.
