Two Point Campus release delayed until August

Two Point Campus has been delayed from its planned release date, with budding university administrators now having to wait until 9th August 2022 before they can start building and running their ideal campus. When it does come out, Two Point Campus will release simultaneously across PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. It will also be out for Xbox Game Pass on day one.

You’ll be building your campus from the ground up, from laying out study halls, to designing dormitories for your students. Of course, this is following on from Two Point Hospital, and just as with that game, your prospective students will be enrolling to all manner of weird and wonderful courses. Gastronomy features oversized culinary learning, while Robotics students will be getting to work building over-sized robots!

The focus of the game is shifting a bit, though, and Two Point Campus promises more freedom to really shape your campus, design the curriculum and courses it offers, and create a space for students to grow as people and learn by catering to their need for fun and entertainment outside of the lecture halls.

We’ve been hands on with the game, and you can read our Two Point Campus preview here.

Mark Webley, Game Director at Two Point Studios said, “Our ambition from the start has been to release Two Point Campus across all PC and console platforms simultaneously to the quality and standard that our community expects from us. This means we will need a little bit more time with Two Point Campus to make sure we deliver the best possible game that can be enjoyed equally on all platforms. We will use these additional three months to optimise Two Point Campus for all platforms.”

If anything, the delay actually gives Two Point Campus a release date that fits better with the typical academic year. Coming out in August, it’s just a month ahead of the usual start of the first term or semester of college or university learning.

Its predecessor, Two Point Hospital was well received, first on PC and then for its console release. In our review, Dom wrote:

There are few games that can boast the level of personality and humour that Two Point Hospital does while still giving you something serious to sink your time into. For anyone with fond memories of Theme Hospital, this is the silly hospital management sim you’ve been waiting for.
