Gameplay footage from the Warner Bros. crossover brawler MultiVersus has leaked online, giving us a glimpse of what the Super Smash Bros. inspired game looks like. Unsurprisingly, it looks quite a lot like Smash Bros.
The gameplay video is live on vk.com, looking like it came from a recent closed network test, as black bars obscure the watermarks intended to block exactly this kind of leak. They…. didn’t work, but do at least make the video look pretty rubbish.
While heavily obscured, you get to see characters like Jake from Adventure Time, Wonder Woman, Harley quinn, Batman, Velma and plenty others jump into the fray.
Announced last November, MultiVersus is going to be a free to play game and it will also support cross platform play. Player First Games is the development team behind the game. The studio has confirmed that MultiVersus will have rollback netcode for its online play. The game has been confirmed for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
So far the officially revealed roster includes Arya Stark, Bugs Bunny, Batman, Finn, Jake, Garnet, Harley Quinn, Reindog, Shaggy, Steven Universe, Superman, Tom & Jerry, and Wonder Woman. That is just the opening roster with more characters to be revealed later on, along with more maps and customisation options – MultiVersus will almost certainly be going down the seasonal content route.
MultiVersus will focus on co-op play with teams of two playing together to face off against other teams, but there is also a solo mode for those who prefer it. Modes include 2v2, 1v1, and Free For All.
