PlayStation Now May 2022 games revealed

Sony has revealed a trio of new games for PlayStation Now, the company’s soon-to-be-axed streaming service.

Two sequels and a gory indie delight are among the PlayStation Now May 2022 lineup. These include SoulCalibur VI, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, and Blasphemous, all of which subscribers can either stream or download to their PS4 or PS5 system.

This will be the final month of PS Now before it merges with PlayStation Plus. On the base level, PS Plus will remain as it is in the Essential plan, with monthly free games, cloud storage for saves and online multiplayer access – it will also retain the same price point. On top of that, you have PS Plus Extra which adds a catalogue of up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games, including some games from PlayStation Studios. Finally, PS Plus Premium will add access to PS3 games via cloud streaming, and a selection of PS1, PS2 and PSP games for both streaming and download. Some of these games are reportedly starting to leak, include the Siphon Filter franchise.

Released in 2018, SoulCalibur VI saw the return of Namco’s weapon fighting series, which even included a cameo of The Witcher’s Geralt of Rivia. Dom scored it a 7/10:

SoulCalibur VI is a fantastic looking entry in the series, but beyond that feels like something of a missed opportunity. The core combat remains as vibrant, weighty and enjoyable as ever, but the Reversal Edge adds in an element of chance that feels at odds with what most fighting games set out to achieve. The two interminably dull story modes don’t help either, with players left to rely on the the straightforward arcade and online modes for their kicks.

Hailing from a different breed of 3D fighting game, Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 acts as a finale for the anime adaptation and features a huge raft of combatants from Naturo’s vast well of characters.

playstation now blasphemous

Finally, Blasphemous invites players to a murderous melee in what is one of the stronger Metroidvania games out there.

Expect next month’s new arrivals list to be much bigger as Sony transitions to its evolved PlayStation Plus. Speaking of PS Plus, here are this month’s free games.
