Namco Bandai has launched a new Elden Ring live action trailer starring UFC Middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya.

This surprise crossover sees the mixed martial arts fighter give viewers an inspiring speech as they embark on their journey to The Lands Between. Adesanya’s pep talk is spliced with Elden Ring gameplay clips, showing various locales, enemies, and bosses. It’s not the first time that FromSoftware has courted celebrity talent for its marketing campaign with Ming-Na Wen (the voice of Disney’s original Mulan) having introduced us to the world of Elden Ring ahead of its launch.

Elden Ring is the latest fantasy roleplaying game from the acclaimed creators of Dark Souls and Bloodborne. For well over a decade, the team has continued to evolve its genre-defining template, somehow managing to innovate is new and creative ways. At launch, the game pre-emptively carved its way into many shortlists for 2022’s best game of the year.

There’s no denying that the game has been a smash hit for Bandai Namco, having reportedly sold over 13 million copies already and even outselling Call of Duty. Here’s what our resident Soulsborne expert, Jason, said in his Elden Ring review:

Elden Ring is the game Souls fans have been waiting for. From the open world design, to riding into battle on Torrent’s back, and the dark narrative woven through the world, this is a clear Game of the Year frontrunner that will have us all ensnared for a long time to come.

Will we see an expansion in future? Or will FromSoftware move onto its next game? Will the studio throw another Déraciné curveball before getting to work on its next inevitable RPG. In a recent interview with director Hidetaka Miyazaki, he confirmed that the team is currently in the final stages of development on their latest project are currently hiring to create multiple future titles.
