Ubisoft Forward stream in September promises Assassin’s Creed announcement and more

Ubisoft has dated their next big Ubisoft Forward stream will take place on 10th September, returning “in full force” with updates on multiple games and projects from Ubisoft’s worldwide teams, one of which is set to be the next Assassin’s Creed title.

The Ubisoft Forward stream will kick off at 12:00PM PT / 8:00PM BST (UK time) / 9:00PM CEST, and I’m sure we can expect more details of what kinds of games and reveals to expect, and the running time, closer to that date.

That said, we can already make some rather educated guesses as to what they will want to feature. The October release date for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope has been announced, while Skull & Bones will have a dedicated gameplay reveal stream this week on 7th July. Both those games have been promised to release by March 2023, and so has Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which would ideally launch around the time of the second James Cameron film, Avatar: The Way of Water, which is scheduled to get its theatrical debut on 16th December. Expect Ubisoft’s Avatar game to target a December release, in other words.

There’s also speculation surrounding the next Ghost Recon and the free-to-play The Division Heartland, but perhaps the biggest game that Ubisoft needs to get right is the next Assassin’s Creed title. There’s currently a 12-week celebration underway for the series’ 15th anniversary and Ubisoft has already teased that fans should “Join us this September as we unveil the future of Assassin’s Creed during a special event.”

With a date in September, Ubisoft will have almost skipped out on the entire summer game stream season with their Ubisoft Forward stream. After E3 2022’s cancellation, it was expected that Ubisoft would host a separate Ubisoft Forward stream, perhaps tying in with Summer Game Fest. Instead, Ubisoft (and plenty other big game companies) skipped out on the Geoff Keighley-fronted showcase season. They have had some summer-time streams, focussed specifically on Mario + Rabbids and Skull & Bones, presumably as they need to get their marketing drives rolling toward October/November launch dates, but for that big blowout Ubisoft showcase? It’ll be after Gamescom even.
