Forza Horizon 5’s Hot Wheels DLC expansion is now live, with the looping chaos of orange track enabled by a hefty update to the brilliant open world arcade racer, kicking off Series 10 of in-game missions and content.
You might have a sense of déjà vu from a Hot Wheel expansion pack coming to a Forza Horizon game. Forza Horizon 3 also had a DLC filled with enlarged toy cars and covered with swooping plastic orange loops and track, so this will feel like very familiar territory to fans of the series.
For this take on the popular toy range, Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels includes 212km of track (in five different types) looping across and between three biomes. There’s 156 missions to take on, 42 events and, of course, a whole host of collectibles to grab. 45 of them to be precise. But back to the map, just check out this craziness which puts the Spaghetti Junction to shame!
If that sounds ace – and why wouldn’t it? – but you haven’t played Forza Horizon 5 before, then don’t worry, you can get to the new loop-de-loops in pretty short order. In fact, Playground Games has created a straightforward step-by-step guide, which outlines the roughly 15-20 minutes that you need to play of the main game before you can load up into the Hot Wheels content.
Quick Start Steps
- Complete the drive to the Horizon Festival
- Customize your character
- Pick your first car from the 3 options
- Finish the first Showcase Event
- Do a mission in one of the two Horizon Stories
- Blast off to the Hot Wheels Park!
Of course, the patch does more than just add Hot Wheels stuff to the game, and makes a broad set to improvements across the game.
