F1 22 update 1.08 improves Career Mode

F1 22 Review Header

Codemasters and EA have tore onto the track with a new F1 22 update. This appears to be a minor patch aimed at tweaking the career difficulty with nothing new in terms of game features or content.

Currently, Codemasters is in the process of trialling online cross-platform play for this latest instalment. The next beta session will take place between August 12-14 and will allows players to join races in Social Play and Two-Player Career game modes, regardless of which platforms they’re playing on.

Hopefully, we won’t have to wait long until the cross-play update is rolled out and available to everyone. In the meantime, here are the latest F1 22 patch notes.

F1 22 Update 1.08 Patch Notes

Hey drivers,

Patch 1.08 is available now for F1 22 on all platforms. Check out what’s in this patch below:

  • Rebalancing of AI performance in Career

Please note that this update will apply to all current and existing saves.

After this patch, please anticipate an average decrease in Career difficulty by five. You may need to alter your save game settings for the best experience.

In our F1 22 review, we scored the racing sequel a solid 7/10:

F1 22 is like a slice of birthday cake a couple days after the party. Someone (probably your dad) has pinched the glacé cherry from the cream splodge on top of your Black Forest Gateau, but your mum’s put some regular cherries, banana and apple slices on the plate to it to make up for it. The fruit doesn’t make sense, but the cake’s still pretty good. Still, you’re left dreaming of what next year’s cake will be like. Maybe your cake engineer will be smart enough by then to actually know who you’re racing against, and maybe Will Buxton will get some new jeans that don’t look like they’ve carved out of stone. Maybe it’ll be a carrot cake.

F1 22 is the second game in the long-running franchise to be published by EA, under its EA Sports label. This follows the company’s acquisition of Codemasters back in February 2021, bringing aboard one of the world’s most established racing game development studios.
