Prodeus will be getting a full release this week

Prodeus is going to be leaving early access on September 23rd and launching on consoles at the same time. The news comes from Bounding Box Software and Humble Games, with confirmation Prodeus will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Switch. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass day one.

Prodeus has both a campaign and multiplaye incorporated in it. The campaign can be played co-operatively with up to four players, while PvP multiplayer will allow 16 players to go up against each other. In PvP, the modes include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture The Flag. There will be other modes as well as well as the ability to come up with different rules. PC players will have access to a level editor to create more maps and share them. This feature is not going to be available on the console versions.

Prodeus mashes up classic visuals with current 3D tech mixing lo-tech visuals and detailed particle effects. The soundtrack has been composed by Andrew Hulshult, who has also worked on DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods, Dusk, and Amid Evil.

In our Prodeus preview, Miguel wrote, “Prodeus is a promising FPS that is packed full of love and respect for the shooters of yore. Plenty of love letters to the classic Doom and Quake lift their art style and make a game that both looks and feels like it could’ve come from that time. Prodeus feels like a game of that era, but it looks far sharper than any of those titles ever could. Feeding a more modern aesthetic into old-school shooter gameplay feels like a killer recipe for success…”
