11 more games announced for PSVR 2 – Crossfire, Cities VR, Hello Neighbour VR & more

PSVR 2 new Header

Alongside the announcement of PSVR 2’s February 2023 release date and eye-watering price, Sony has also revealed 11 more games that will be coming to the next generation VR headset.

These include a Dark Pictures Anthology rail shooter, the VR adaptation of Cities: Skylines. Hello Neighbour VR, and PSVR 2 ports of Jurassic World Aftermatch and After The Fall. All will be launch games for the PSVR 2 headset – Update: we missed the mention of this originally – but only a handful are new or exclusive, with most available on other platforms, cross-gen releases with PSVR, or upgraded PSVR games.

Here’s the list, a few details, and all the trailers!

The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR

This of this as a spiritual successor to PSVR launch game Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. It’s a VR rail shooter, though this time it’s set in the Dark Pictures Anthology horror-verse.

Crossfire: Sierra Squad

A VR game based off the popular Crossfire multiplayer shooter, Sierra Squad will have you battling AI enemies in single and co-op play with 60 campaign missions to take on in varying play modes, including arcade mode, realism mode and hardcore horde more.

The Light Brigade

This is a single player roguelike that tasks you with journeying into the Sunken World to battle back the darkness in procedurally generated battlegrounds. There’s physic-based gunplay with a mixture of firearms and spells.

The Light Brigade will be a cross-buy title for both PSVR and PSVR 2 with pre-orders going live on 16th November.

Cities VR

Cities VR – Enhanced Edition for PSVR 2 takes the core of popular city builder Cities: Skylines and reworks it for VR play. Cities VR launched for Meta Quest earlier this year. Pre-orders will be live on 15th November.

Cosmonious High

Coming from Owlchemy Labs (the makers of Job Simulator), Cosmonious High turns players into a Prismi, a rare alien species that can adapt to various situations, and tasks you with solving all manner of problems at an alien school. The game is out now on Meta Quest and Steam VR, and will be up for PSVR 2 pre-orders on 15th November

Hello Neighbour: Search & Rescue

The popular house-based horror antics of Hello Neighbour are coming to VR. Hello Neighbour Search & Rescue will be a cross-buy release for PSVR and PSVR 2.

Jurassic World Aftermath Collection

A reworked collection of the previously released Jurassic World Aftermath Part 1 and Part 2 is coming to PSVR 2 in 2023. Set between Jurassic World Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, players crash land on the familiar Isla Nublar and have to escape an abandoned research facility.

Pistol Whip

A PSVR 2 enhanced version of the physical action-rhythm game, combining gunplay and music. Pistol Whip will be a free upgrade for owners of the original on PSVR.

Zenith: The Last City

An upgraded launch title for PSVR 2, Zenith: The Last City will have a new player experience overhaul, new systems and gameplay and a big graphics upgrade. This will be a free upgrade for owners of the game on PSVR.

After The Fall

An enhanced version of latest from Vertigo Games, After The Fall on PSVR 2 will feature all of the content and updates for the original release of this Left 4 Dead-alike co-op VR shooter. It’s not clear if this will be a free upgrade for existing owners, but see our After The Fall PSVR review here.

Tentacular

Tentacular embodies you as a good-natured mollusc unaware of its vast strength as it tries to solve physics-based problems.

  1. And where’s HL:Alyx, where Alien:Isolation? So far, I don’t see any must-have’s for PSVR2.
