Industry insider Jeff Grubb has taken to Hive, a social app for mobile devices, to announce that he has heard that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be at the forthcoming The Game Awards. He also suggests that the game will be released in March 2023.

You can view the post here but you will need the Hive app and and account, it won’t work on a PC. Grubb decided to move to the platform as Twitter is currently a bin fire run by an insane megalomaniac.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a sequel from Respawn Entertainment to the hit game Jedi: Fallen Order, was officially revealed at the Star Wars Celebration. The game will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2023.

Some details of the game leaked earlier, but the official reveal tells us that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will continue the story of Cal Kestis, picking things up five years on from the first title. Cal is struggling to stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit of the last remaining Jedi, but along with his trusty (and very cute) droid companion BD-1, he will find himself a new ally and meet up with new and interesting characters.

Respawn promise that Cal will have to learn new skills and keep on growing his connection with the Force, so presumably this won’t be a case where he gets bonked on the head and forgets how to do basic Jedi skills again, while also expanding the game’s combat in new ways.

Stig Asmussen, the game director at Respawn said, “Even before completing Jedi: Fallen Order, our team had a vision of how to carry the adventure for Cal, BD, and the crew into the sequel. For Jedi: Survivor, we are working in lockstep with Lucasfilm Games to build on the legacy of Jedi: Fallen Order. We’re leveraging advanced technology to create more dynamic Jedi combat and cinematic storytelling to expand on Cal’s story as he matures and survives during the dark times. We can’t wait to share more about the game with the world later this year.”
