Bandai Namco and FromSoftware announced Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, a long-awaited return of the mecha game series that will be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2023.
Before they were the Dark Souls people, FromSoftware’s longest-standing series was Armored Core, in which you take control of hulking mechs and do battle. The popularity of Dark Souls and the genre that FromSoftware built from that game has sidelined Armored core for over a generation, with the last game, Armored Core: Verdict Day, out almost a decade ago in 2013.
Armored Core VI looks pretty ace though, even if the announcement comes in the form of a slick pre-rendered trailer. I’m sure fans will be wanting to see a huge leap forward in terms of fidelity and gameplay.
