Well, what do you know? Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is coming out on 17th March 2023. Check out the new gameplay reveal trailer:
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor continues the story of Cal Kestis, picking things up five years on from the first title. Cal is struggling to stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit of the last remaining Jedi, but along with his trusty (and very cute) droid companion BD-1, he will find himself a new ally and meet up with new and interesting characters.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will come with two different editions. There’s the Standard Edition, with pre-orders getting the ‘Hermit’ cosmetic, lightsaber and ‘Combustion’ blaster, inspired by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Meanwhile, Deluxe Edition pre-orders get Han Solo and Luke Skywalker-inspired cosmetics bundles.
It will build upon the foundations of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which blended Star Wars lightsabering and Jedi action with a bit of a Dark Souls vibe to the world design and progression. With the game now exclusively on the current gen consoles, Respawn can push on in certain ways, improving the visuals, the animations, the combat variety and more. We spotted animal riding, combat team ups, grappling hooks and more in the trailer!
If you’ve not already played the first game, you’ve got around 4 months to catch up. In our review for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Jim wrote:
“Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is exactly the kind of single player game we had originally hoped to see when EA and Disney joined forces. Even if you strip away the license, you’re left with a super satisfying mix or combat, story, and exploration, deftly crafted by a studio best known for spearheading an entirely different genre.”
