Samba de Amigo: Party Central revealed for Nintendo Switch

A new entry in the maraca-filled rhythm action Samba de Amigo: Party Central has been revealed for Nintendo Switch during the latest Direct live stream. It will be coming out in summer 2023.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central will have you moving and shaking those Joy-Con to 40 tracks taken from EDM, pop, Latin and more genres, alongside a bunch of mini-games and other challenges.

There’s also some new online multiplayer features, including the 8-player World Party mode.

Samba de Amigo got its start right at the tail end of Sega’s hardware era, releasing in arcades in 1999 and then having a Dreamcast release in 2000. That, of course, was also the era of wild game-specific peripherals, and Samba de Amigo came with a pair of maracas. It was a natural fit in 2008 to then port the game to Nintendo Wii, with its family-friendly Wiimote waggling taking the place of the maracas, and now it will be the turn of the Joy-Con.
