Marking the start of the 2023 Formula 1 season this weekend, Frontier Developments is holding a Steam Free Weekend for F1 Manager 2022.
From today, 2nd March through to 6th March, you’ll be able to play the full F1 Manager 2022 via Steam for free. The game is also on sale with 70% off during this free weekend.
F1 Manager 2022 is Frontier Developments’ first crack at a management sim in one of the world’s biggest motorsports. You’ll dive in to building up the team’s staff and facilities, developing the car, ensuring you have the right talent from a pool of F1, F2 and F3 drivers in the racing seats, and then sitting on the pit wall to respond to changing weather, safety cars, red flag restarts and more.
Shortly after the game’s August launch in October last year, it seemed that Frontier was moving full development on to the next game, F1 Manager 2023, and abandoning the first game in its entirety. However, Frontier came back after the kerfuffle to say that, while there wouldn’t be any significant gameplay features added, it would still be supported with updates for the most significant complaints and issues.
The real advancements will likely come with the next yearly entry, with Frontier able to build on the first game’s foundations and try to provide more features and realistic nuances to the sports simulation.
Looking back at F1 Manager 2022’s release, Tom said, “while it may not have captured all the exciting and dynamic elements of Formula 1, it’s an enjoyable experience in its own right.”
