Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is getting its first DLC on June 29th, Team Ninja has confirmed. The DLC is called Battle of Zhongyuan and it will add new stages, enemies, and weapon types. There is not much detail given about the rest of the content that will feature in this DLC, but some teaser art has been released.
Zhongyuan is in the Central Plains area of China and has been a location that has played a key part in Chinese history, including the Three Kingdoms era. It has been an area that was historically the central area of power, dating back to the Xia dynasty, the first dynasty in Chinese history. It remained a place of power for centuries, so it makes sense for a key part of Wo Long’s lore to be based in such an important region in China’s formation and growth.
The official description for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty says, “Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty follows the dramatic, action-packed story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms. Players fight off deadly creatures and enemy soldiers using swordplay based on the Chinese martial arts, attempting to overcome the odds by awakening the true power from within.”

In our Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty review, Jason wrote, “Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is nearly always a rush to play, and even when you’re getting pummelled, it still feels as though you could overcome the fight if you just learned the attack patterns a little better, or maybe just summoned some more help.”
