Activision and Infinity Ward have released their Warzone 2.0 Season 5 update, introducing a wealth of new content and improvements for the battle royale shooter.
Available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the free Season 5 update comes packed with new vehicles, field upgrades, and equipment.

Warzone 2.0 Season 5 Update | Summary
BATTLE ROYALE, RESURGENCE, PLUNDER, LOCKDOWN:
- This update introduces significant changes and additions to various modes within Warzone, including Battle Royale, Resurgence, Plunder, and Lockdown.
PLAYLIST:
- Modes will be rotated in and out of the Playlist on a weekly basis, providing players with diverse gameplay experiences. A Warzone Trello Board will offer updates on the Playlist and Scheduled Events.
MODES:
- Fort Resurgence In-Season: Al Bagra Fortress and its surroundings are added to the Resurgence map rotation.
- Armored Royale In-Season: A unique Battle Royale mode where squads drop onto their own heavily equipped MRAPs, fortifying and repairing them to battle against other squads with similar vehicles.
GENERAL:
- Matchmaking Status in Play Again: Players can see their matchmaking status during the Play Again Loading Screen.
- Champion’s Quest: Progression timer now requires players to hold all available elements while locating the next one.
- Reduced Player Count on Al Mazrah: Squad sizes in Al Mazrah Battle Royale are reduced to 100 players, enhancing matchmaking times and gameplay quality.
GAMEPLAY:
- New Features: New elements like Reinforcement Flare Field Upgrade, Portable Redeploy Drone (P.R.D.) Field Upgrade, and more are introduced across various maps and modes.
- Al Mazrah MRAP Vehicle: A combat-ready vehicle for attack or defense, available for squads to drive using MRAP Keys.
- Dirt Bike Vehicle: A nimble and rapid transportation option for players.
- Circle Timing and Size Adjustments: Faster and more dynamic circle pacing is introduced to enhance gameplay dynamics.
Vondel | Battle Royale:
- Champion’s Quest: Collecting unique elements with special effects adds depth to gameplay.
- Match Ruleset Updates: New vehicles, gameplay elements, and contracts are introduced, while certain elements are disabled.
WARZONE RANKED PLAY:
- Season 05 Rewards: New rewards, skill rating adjustments, and division rewards are introduced for Ranked Play.
DMZ:
- New Field Upgrades: Disguise, Battle Revive, and Self-Revive Box add tactical depth to gameplay.
- New Equipment: Scuba Gas Mask offers protection and extended underwater breathing.
- New Missions and Faction: Shadow Company joins the fight with new missions and friendly fire dynamics.
- Adjustments: Improved mission descriptions and infil locations.
Want to know what’s coming next for Call of Duty? Activision have yet to host their usual preview though leaks point to this year’s sequel being Modern Warfare 3, a direct follow-up to MW2 that started as a standalone DLC before growing into its own larger game.
