Oh, we do love to be beside the weekend, and we do love to give some things away, so as it’s Friday we’ve hooked up with the wonderful Airship Syndicate and Outrageous PR to bring five lucky readers Founder’s Packs for the brand new MMO, Wayfinder.
Released into Early Access on the 17th of August, Wayfinder comes from Airship Syndicate, the studio co-founded by Joe Madureira, who’s previous work on Darksiders led to him creating his own studio. Their first release, Battle Chasers, was a big hit for them, stretching into its own comic book, before they teamed up with Riot for League of Legends: The Ruined King. Now, Wayfinder is their most ambitious title to date, with the MMORPG aiming to join the likes of Final Fantasy XIV and Elder Scrolls Online at the top of most-played charts.
Wayfinder is an altogether different proposition though, with a character-based class system that manages to work thanks to some multiversal shenanigans, and the fact that any character can take on any role, switching between weapons when they do so. It’s a very cool start for the game, which is ultimately aiming to go free-to-play when it reaches version 1.0, so now’s the perfect time to hop in and get yourself settled into the world of Evenor, and make a start fending off the Greed.
We’ve been putting plenty of time into Early Access over the past week, and we’ve been having lots of fun partying up for some hack-and-slash action. It plays something like Monster Hunter, but with a dose of God of War and – true to the studio’s legacy – Darksiders in there for good measure.
