So I was just wondering what last gen titles people were mopping up before they jumped head long into the next-gen/current-gen I suppose now.
I was a bit disappointed when I made the decision for my wallets sake to cancel my PS4 pre-order and now thinking about it theres a lot of stuff I would still like to play on the PS3 before I get myself a PS4. So at the moment I’m playing through Blacklist and GTAV but I also want to go through the God of War games, Binary Domain, Puppeteer, Resi 6, Ni No Kuni, MGS Revengance.
I might start raiding the second hand games at the local game too to tide me over till August when I plan on buying a PS4.08/12/13 at 00:49 #206698freezebug2Participant
Not so much mopping as going in with all guns blazing lol, GT6 being the main priority at the moment. Recently bought Ferrari Legends, WRC3 and Port Royale in that 3 quid a piece sale, but those games are taking a back seat while the behemoth driving simulation takes priority over everything! :)08/12/13 at 10:29 #206726
I bought WRC3 in the sale too, but again it’s taking a back seat.
Anyhow, my backlog:
Modern Warfare 3
The Last of Us
Dead Space 3
Batman Arkham City
Far Cry 3
NFS Most Wanted
Resident Evil 5
Dead or Alive 5
Mass Effect 3
God of War HD
Jak and Daxter collection HD
Joe Danger: The Movie
Stealh Inc: A Clone in the Dark
New Little Kings Story
Virtue’s Last Reward
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Spec Ops: The Line
Assassin’s Creed 3
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen
Lord of the Rings: War in the North
…and a few others here and there.
Most of it’s from Plus, as I stormed through a PC backlog of twenty or more games during the Summer. Although I’m racking up this many games, give it three months of Summer in 2014 and a lot of it will be cut through in pure gaming bliss. PS4 will probably be purchased sometime in 2015 depending on what I want to do then.08/12/13 at 11:45 #206738
Whoa, thats quite a list of games I thought I had a big backlog!
I don’t think I’ll be able to wait till 2015 for a PS4 I’m already really antsy to get one and waiting till my birthday in August is going to be hell for me.08/12/13 at 13:09 #206746
Well it’s just a case of having a gaming device to keep myself occupied. My PS3 won’t run dry for a long time now, and I have the Vita for a lot of portable games so PS4 isn’t worth it at the moment.08/12/13 at 19:30 #206777gazzagbModerator
Bloody hell, are these games you’ve bought and then just left, or is this a list of games you want to pick up and play before moving onto next-gen?08/12/13 at 20:51 #206792MuggleMindParticipant
Having just platinumed Saints Row 3, I am now spending most of my time going between various games on the PS4, Rainbow Moon on the vita, and the last stages of Sacred 2 on the PS3. My PS3 backlog is about as long as Avenger’s, but not sure I’ll ever get round to most of them.08/12/13 at 22:40 #206807Lyts1985Participant
Same here – I’ve got a shed load of PS+ games I haven’t even touched yet… But for now I’m juggling Killzone: Shadow Fall with Tomb Raider, GT6, and Jak & Daxter.09/12/13 at 08:36 #206823YoulesParticipant
Here’s my PS3 shortlist, split into various categories:
GAMES TO PLAT (ALMOST PLATINUMED OR HAVE DONE ALL THE HARD/MULTIPLAYER TROPHIES):
Call of Duty Black Ops 2
Assassins Creed III
NEW(ISH) GAMES TO PLATINUM:
Beyond: Two Souls
Metro Last Light
OTHER GAMES I WANT TO PLATINUM/100%:
The Unfinished Swan (PSN)
Ni No Kuni
GAMES THAT I JUST WANT TO PLAYTHROUGH THE SINGLE PLAYER ONCE:
Max Payne 3
Resident Evil 6
PS+ GAMES TO PLAY OR PLATINUM:
Far Cry 3
Spec-Ops The Line
Lara Croft & The Guardian of Light (PSN)
I also have 30 or so other games that I would like to play, although I can’t see me getting through all the above until I win the lottery or really stick to my guns and don’t buy too many PS4 games. I will at the very least do the first two sections as I’ve done the hard work for most of those.09/12/13 at 08:44 #206826Lyts1985Participant
Nice list Youles. You’ve got far more patience than me!
LA Noire and Far Cry 3 are easy platinums. Ni No Kuni is an awesome game but far too time consuming for me to go for the platinum – definitely doable if you can put the hours in though.
Max Payne 3 wouldn’t be too bad if it weren’t for the multiplayer… Think I’ve got all the single player trophies bar New York Minute Hardcore and Old School… Bloody good game though!09/12/13 at 08:50 #206827YoulesParticipant
Thanks. Lots of patience, so little time lol!
I’ve only got Lego Marvel, CoD Ghosts and Killzone on PS4, so I’m hoping to get them done in the next couple of months so I can go back to my PS3 list. The main reason I did a lot of the multiplayer/online trophies was so I could just chip away at the backlog here and there. As you say, Ni No Kuni is long so that might be the last one to do!! I agree about Max Payne 3 after seeing the trophy list, that’s why it’s just in the list of a single playthrough – would just be nice to play it and see what all the fuss was about.
Over the Christmas period I will try and platinum Beyond as that will hopefully be a game I can sit down and have a few whiskeys with – nothing too frantic ;)
GTA 5 will be my main stumbling block – since patch 1.06 the amount of RP awarded for anything is ridiculously low so not sure I’ll ever reach level 100.09/12/13 at 10:33 #206834
@Gazzagb Most of my list is the last one year from PS+, with a only a few titles being bought like Dead Space 3 which is on the PC. Rest assured every single one of them I have installed and ready to play and all of them certainly will be played. But I’m busy with University, and so a few games are only being played at a time. Dead Space 3 and Bioshock Infinite (I’m looking forward to these) will get done through Christmas despite working on essays through the festive period. This coming Summer won’t have a PC backlog, so PS3 will be played, played and played.
The only one thing with that list is that it’s a irony that next year I’d like to buy GT6 and BF4, as well as a ton of other PS3 games which I’ll wait and see as to whether they come to PS plus. If not, they’ll get picked up at the end of the year.
The PC backlog I got through during Summer was:
Assassin’s Creed 2
Assassin’s Creed Revelations
Dragon Age 2
Sins of a Solar Empire
Batman Arkham Asylum
Dead Space 2
Far Cry 2
Half Life 2
Dawn of War II
XCOM Enemy Unknown
Test Drive 2
… That’s about it I think.09/12/13 at 22:33 #206970
I haven’t even listed my PC backlog. But then my PC went and died on me recently so those games will be forgotten about until/if I build a new gaming rig.
Although saying that some of them at least I can play on my MacBook Pro through Steam. Which means I can add Borderlands 2, FTL, Binding of Issac, X-Com, Hot Line Miami, Braid and Limbo, also have 400 Days DLC in Walking Dead to play.
Its pretty interesting seeing all the games that people are either finishing off or want to play through on the PS3. Its reminding me of a few more titles I’d like to play through too.. …Which if truth be told was kind of evil master plan behind starting this thread… *makes finger pyramid of evil contemplation*

Wow, that’s an impressive number of games to have got through! I’m so bad at completing games, unless it totally grabs me, it takes me ages to get around to playing it. I hate how short an attention span I have, I generally can’t play games for more than 45-60mins without getting bored!
The only recent games to hook me were Ghosts and Spec Ops the Line, I ploughed through the COD campaign in just a few days, the second half is especially good. Spec Ops was really good too, the story was great even if the gameplay was only an average shooter.10/12/13 at 09:57 #206994
I’m relatively the same Gazzagb. There were games that were bought and played for 1 hour and then were deleted after consideration. Stuff like Fallout 3 and Red Faction never grabbed me, so they got the elbow from the PC backlog.
AC2 got put to one side for a while because there was a moment when it was just the same old crap and I couldn’t be bothered. Darksiders had a difficulty spike so that got put down for a while, but then it got picked up again, got past the spike, and it was a good game. Sometimes developers do ruin things with stupendous difficulty. Something like Dark Souls isn’t difficult either, it’s challenging; that’s what I like, challenge.
Luckily I avoided ArmA 3 being added to that PC backlog, otherwise my life would have been lost in coding AI/Levels.
