I just got an email, my copy has been dispatched!!! Aaaargh!! I’m so excited and a little bit of wee just came out! Who else is buzzing?31/08/15 at 22:41 #251580
Happy Metal Solid Day everybody! I hope you all have a wonderful time playing with your snakes and puppies.01/09/15 at 10:06 #251611
Just a few more hours left before I can play it! Unless it doesn’t arrive today and arrives tomorrow. I may be in the news later as that one bloke who went on a CQC rampage across the southern half of England before hiding in a box and slowly raising an army of rabbits called Fluffy Wuffykins. GODDAMNIT! THE WAITING IS well, crap.
After training in MGS:Ground Zeroes and uploading me save, i am ready. I am more then ready, i am….
BIG STEVEN! RAWR!
Yeah, i’m excited! Second game i’ve preordered in my life and Amazon had better deliver it today or i’m building myself a Metal Gear Rex! Joking aside, i’m too goddarn excited!01/09/15 at 10:13 #251613
Hi mate, I’m hyped for MGSV. Only just started it over the weekend but love it, one of the better games I’ve played on PS4, even now – I love it. I really enjoyed the mission where you shoot from the chopper, nice that MGS has done something a bit different and more action-packed (as a side-mission).
I also think the introduction of the Reflex thingy (if that’s what its called) is brilliant, and will change the game for a lot of people. Nothing more annoying than doing a level 80% perfect only for one fuck-up to mess everything up, and so Reflex mode gives you the opportunity to save yourself.
Btw – Ground Zeroes has had a patch. There has been a SAVE DATA UPLOAD option added so you may want to upload your save if you played it, and have MGSV. I just need to mark all targets on all levels (on Normal, to unlock the last trials), and collect the last few cassettes for 100%, then I’ll upload my save and jump straight into MGSV. Sadly this probably won’t be until the weekend since it’s date night tonight (will be playing Until Dawn with the wife), and have arranged to play Zombies on Wednesday & Thursday!01/09/15 at 10:25 #251616
I’m a bit mixed about the Reflex system. It has saved my arse on a few occassions in MGS V but it feels like a bit of a cheap way out of an alert. However, it is useful when carrying prisoners. Ground Zeroes is more challenging then V due to the limited equipment. Also, avoid Mega64’s MGS V Spoof. Apparently, it’s a giant spoiler but i seriously doubt it due to how silly they were and well, i doubt they are the type of guys to do something. I did cock up a lot last night whilst rescuing Paz thus ruined my no alert run but to be honest, i always do struggle with that part. However, i feel that alerts will be unlikely for me in TPP as i intend to go with a stealth oriented approach and maybe, cause distractions via C4 and vehicles. Also, i am fultoning the hell out of everyone and everything! Kaz may end up hating me for overfilling Motherbase again.01/09/15 at 11:05 #251632
Youles, the Konami servers haven’t been turned on just yet so the save transfer didn’t work for me on Saturday, hopefully I can do it in retrospect as I don’t wanna start again, just my first mission with the adorable DD! He’s bloody good! And yeah the reflex is brilliant, it works well with the lack of radars and gadgets. I bloody love the hi-tech retro 70s-80s environment they’ve created, it’s perfect.
Lonesteven, glad youre all ready to go dude! There’s a good veriety of mixed missions in V, stealth is a choice this time although encouraged for S-ranks as you’d expect from Kojima ;) I just did a convoy smash and grab mission, the only way to do it is noisily, fucking brilliant! Right, no more spoiling it for you guys, I’ll keep schtum for a day or two!01/09/15 at 11:20 #251643
For any hit and grab missions, i am just stealing me a tank and turning into John V.Snake. ;) I am expecting to be forced into a corridor for the first hour or so but it will be the usual Kojima style of introducing MGS V. I will admit, i may abuse the Power Glove.. i mean BB’s robotic hand and punch things to death. I intend to go for a hybrid of stealth and action approach to MGS V. Stealth is the priority but if i cock up and have to turn into Rambo then so be it.01/09/15 at 11:33 #251648
Hellboy Wank-mit! I’ve yet to see it do anything useful but it is gonna be upgradable later in the game. Yeah I take the same approach, stealth first then violence, reflex saves the day with that though and since Big Boss must eventually become a warlord I guess a bit of violence makes sense for the story. Are you just sitting twiddling your thumbs in front of GZ then today Steven?01/09/15 at 11:36 #251650
Nah, just waiting for the Postie to show up and if it doesn’t come today, i am CQCing everyone in the south of england.01/09/15 at 11:43 #251653
I know what you mean about the Reflex thing Steve, although I think it’s ultimately a good thing if it makes the game more accessible for new players or rubbish one ;) Plus you can turn it off. For me it’s just good to have if you’re so close to doing a mission perfectly, but make one tiny error – it can be a life-saver.
Definitely won’t be starting V until I get all the trophies for GZ and then upload my save. Hopefully the servers will be live soon.
Does anyone know what the Ground Zeroes DLC code does that we got with the game (for TPP) – the code still wasn’t redeemable a few days ago?01/09/15 at 11:56 #25165601/09/15 at 12:33 #251669
COME ON POSTIE! The waiting is unbareable! Ok, According to Amazon, it should be here tomorrow but in my experience, what Amazon says and what happens are two different things so i’m thinking that it will arrive today! Just potentially half an hour till i get to play with my Snake and turn into Liquid Snake.01/09/15 at 12:47 #251670
How big is the Day one edition DLC? Is it small?
I think i’ll redeem my GZ code at 1pm and may just play PW today if it doesn’t arrive.01/09/15 at 14:46 #251679
No idea, the single player stuff is items, my online code didn’t work so have written to Konami :( The item carryover from GZ is quite good, better kit than the DLC!01/09/15 at 17:22 #251706
Code doesn’t work and V did not arrive today. Naturally, i shall develop Metal Gear S and bring the world to the brink of ruin. It will have several guns that look like NSFW organs. Apparently, the tutorial is 2 hours long but i don’t care and rather not have it confirmed until i’ve played it. Tis a perfect score on Eurogamer and it seems that this is truely worthy of being Hideo’s last MGS game.
