Ah dude I’m gutted for you, please spare Farnborough when you go on your southern rampage, fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow!
Youles, any news?01/09/15 at 18:50 #251708
One’s Collectors Edition has arrived, although it’s date night so won’t get opened! Saving it for tomorrow!
So just to clarify, which DLC codes aren’t working – the old Ground Zeroes ones?01/09/15 at 20:15 #251709
The GZ ones. Bloody annoying as i intended on setting up the GZ side of stuff today thus being ready for it tomorrow. God, the 3 hour wait for the postie tomorrow will be annoying. However, i am watching soem trailers and a gameplay demo. Am flat out ignoring the comments due to high risk of some git spoiling it. Man, i cannea wait until tomorrow.
I may end up turning my Motherbase into **** snake steals base. Also, it seems that the FOB s restricted to one unless you want to pay for the rest with hard cash. Konami are gits for doing that.01/09/15 at 22:22 #251711
Hmm, haven’t got to FOB stage yet, any idea on the cash investment needed for extra bases?
Youles, single player (outfit and weapon) DLC works, my particular Online DLC code doesn’t, Konami International have referred me to Konami EU for a solution. Not sure about the GZ stuff yet but the saves have carried forward nicely. Some menu options such as researching weapons and outer ops seems to use the servers, for some reason today they were very slow to load but before online went active they were totally slick, as you’d expect in a single player game.
I spent today mostly chilling with my wife, wirking from home with back pains due to being pregnant! This evening we saw a friend who works in China but is back in London for the week. Tomorrow is my Metal Gear Solid day and I’ll not be moving an inch from my sofa… unless I need the loo or food :)02/09/15 at 10:28 #251738
Thanks for the clarification – hopefully the GZ DLC codes will be working by the time I finish it over the weekend. I suspect the TPP DLC code (for online stuff) won’t work until next month Ron, when the online becomes active – assuming you have separate codes for offline and online DLCs?
Regarding FOB, apparently an additional base will cost you about 1,500-1,600 (not sure of currency), although 100 will cost about £1.69 so it’s bloody expensive. However, I know that once I’m engrossed in the game I’ll probably spend a tenner to give me a boost and set up 1 additional base, particularly as it speeds along development and resources in single player. I’m terrible, I hate all this DLC and the only way to stop it is to not buy it, but I can’t help myself – the model obviously works. :(03/09/15 at 09:38 #251799
Here is some potential insight to the DLC:
Ground Zeroes DLC
As per http://metalgear.wikia.com/wiki/Mother_Base_Bonus_Staff the Ground Zeroes DLC code is supposed to give you staff/characters with the FOX emblem on their face.
I was finally able to redeem my code last night, and whilst the DLC was 2.1MB and there was the downward-facing triangle to initiate the download, I wasn’t able to click on this triangle (it was faded out so that I couldn’t click on it to download it). Perhaps anyone else can tell me if theirs did the same?
On inspecting my PSN Download list via the web store there are now two items called “Motherbase Staff 1”. I believe one is for PS3 (since it gives me the option to download it to my PS3), and presumably the other is for the PS4. However, the one I presume to be for the PS4 cannot be re-download – therefore it could be an online licence and as such the Staff will be added to Motherbase once I connect to the servers. I cannot confirm this yet as I haven’t started playing MGSV but will update when I can.
The Phantom Pain DLC
My understanding is that the online content code won’t work until the MGSOnline launches in October, however below is what I got for the single player DLC code. Only a few of these can actually be downloaded, so I guess that the others are licences and the content will be added once I connect to the servers (or at least I’m hoping). Alternatively the items might be listed individually – such as with the Shields – yet all 4 variants are included in the downloadable file for the Olive Drab one:
Rasp Short-Barreled Shotgun (Gold) – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History
Personal Ballistic Shield (White) – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History
Personal Ballistic Shield (Silver) – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History
Personal Ballistic Shield (Olive Drab) – CAN be downloaded from Download List/History
Personal Ballistic Shield (Gold) – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History
Fatigues (All-Purpose Dryland) – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History
Windurger S333 CombatSpecial – CAN be downloaded from Download List/History
Maschinen Taktische Pistole 5 Weiss – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History
Fatigues (Gray Urban) – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History
Emblem “Venom Snake” – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History
Cardboard Box (Wetland) – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History
Cardboard Box (Rocky Terrain) – CAN be downloaded from Download List/History
Cardboard Box (All-Purpose Dryland) – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History
Cardboard Box (Blue Urban) – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History
Fatigues (Back Ocelot) – CAN be downloaded from Download List/History
Adam-ska Special – cannot be downloaded from Download List/History03/09/15 at 09:44 #251800
So the only thing I don’t know is what I’ll get from transferring my Ground Zeroes save file across, and whether having 50%, 75% or 100% (for example) completion will mean you get different items/content.03/09/15 at 12:41 #251818
Good research, thanks for that mate! I got an email from Konami this morning, you’re totally right about the online DLC it’ll be redeemable once online launches.
I was 75% from GZ and downloaded my save to PP yesterday. I had so many items, supplies and staff from the daily login bonus that I couldn’t say for sure whether I got items from GZ, but I did get a specific message saying that staff I had rescued were joining my base. I was particularly excited when Kojima reared his beautiful face!
As with the main game, I’m cracking on and it’s getting confusing. Snake doesn’t say much, I noticed that from the start, it seems really wrong.03/09/15 at 13:03 #251819
Daily Bonus? Ahh, I need to finish GZ asap so I can start TPP!!! How did you get Kojima? :O
I suspect any items carried over from GZ aren’t based on your completion %, it’s probably just a bonus – who knows!03/09/15 at 14:44 #251825
It arrived yesterday and I love it! I got Kojima via Ground Zeroes import. Basically, the way the import works is that it looks at who you rescued and imports them after Mission X has passed. You also get the sneaking suit and I think the Deja Vu suits as well.
I seem to get spotted a lot but i’m going to slow down and slowly create havoc in the next out post I am at. Just C4 in separate locations and slowly detonate them to see how the enemy reacts.03/09/15 at 14:56 #251827
Youles, Kojima can be rescued in GZ, I think it’s that gunship mission. Daily bonus has got you hooked eh? I think you need to play the prologue before you can get it so yep better get on with it mate!04/09/15 at 11:21 #251887
It is the gunship battle. It’s a bit more then the prologue in order to unlock the GZ staff. I think, they are split between Missions 1-12 but can’t be sure. Restarted yesterday as I wasn’t happy at the mess my staff was in and development was all over the place. I intend to micromanage my staff but most likely agree with Miller’s placement of them and developing non-lethal stuff is the priority.04/09/15 at 11:24 #251888
Oh and DD the puppy is so freaking cute!04/09/15 at 12:01 #251898
He is isn’t he! He’s awesome on missions too but not invincible, I dunno if he can die but he definitely gets in trouble.
I was on a mission yesterday, a bit further from where I think you are Steven, and had a proper jumpy ‘FUCK NO!’ moment, I felt genuine shock and disgust, but then it was sort of all okay. It’s impossible not to spoil so I’ll say no more but I have a feeling Kojima has plenty of shocks lined up for us!
Oh Youles I forgot to ask, what do you think of the extra bits in your collectors edition? Any chance of a picture on Twitter?04/09/15 at 16:11 #251911
