Thought I’d join the party. I’m a few missions into chapter 2 now but the game started to bore the hell out of me after about the 5th or 6th mission. I’m not too sure why I keep playing it… probably because I needed a break from a few other games.
I don’t know about up guys, but I feel like I’ve done the same mission about 50 times. It seems to me that the only reason there’s hundreds of hours of gameplay is because most of them are spent mucking around in menus or jumping on and off helicopters. If I’ve got a spare hour to play, I’ll boot the game up, sort out my bases, jump on a chopper, then discover 45 mins have already passed.
Slight SPOILER here – But what the hell was going on with that music the game had me listening to near the end of chapter 1 when chatting to Skull Face in the jeep?! IT WAS DOG SHIT!!!! Lol
It’s not a bad game, but certainly no 9 or 10/10. As for Open World, it all looks the same.
I’m now at the stage of either trading it in OR grinding my way to the end seeming i’ve already come so far.30/09/15 at 15:55 #253479

Personally, I would give the game 7 at best. I mean, it’s good but the story is kinda disappointing and flat out fails to be the missing link. I’ve pretty much taken a break from it as I just got bored.
With that scene in Mission 30, I think it’s Kojima trying to be Kojima with the new way of Kojima story telling and it failed. I mean, Snake says nothing! For a franchise that features confrontations with memorable bosses(apart from PW), they really dropped the ball. oh and you’ll probably hate the ending. It also seems that it’s a rushed game as chapter 3 was cut out and it was discovered a few weeks ago.30/09/15 at 16:14 #253480
Hmmmmm… I think it’s gonna be a trade-in then. I better check what new releases are on the horizon.30/09/15 at 16:19 #253481
It really does feel like a lot of repetition and it’s not as fun Peace Walker which dumped you right in the action and gave you a hundred puzzles rather than risked your getting bored running from one outpost to another. The pacing is all wrong from 25-40, I’ll let you guys know if it improves at the end.30/09/15 at 16:29 #253482
CEX offer £27 cash for the game. I might take them up on the offer, that way it’ll mean I would’ve only paid about £13 for god knows how many hours plsy’ish’ time. Thats not bad when you look at it from that perspective.
Apologies, I feel like I’ve kind of hi-jacked the thread ;)
I may have to google what happens it the end with Quiet. – Thats if it didn’t stumble over into the non-existent chapter 3.01/10/15 at 19:58 #253550
No worries dude! It certainly isn’t the 10/10 experience I was hoping for.
I finished the game today and would however give it a bit fat 9/10. My major problem is the pacing of the plot, it’s not necessarily bad but doesn’t live up to the incredible standard set by the rest of the series. Pacing was sacrificed for the open world. I really loved the story though, the ending is very Kojima, maybe even more so than usual, and there are plenty of clues dotted throughout the game so I’m wondering whether another play through will help me enjoy it more. Anyway, I really don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll just say I’d totally encourage all of you to finish the story!
